weekend after
well after some crappy Friday, i managed to get a fantabulous weekend with the gals. Plot one had me going all the way to Luzira for lunch at my recently wed galfriends place sorry home. We ate, laughed, ate some more, laughed and all this time i couldn’t get over the fact that she was married. A wifey. I tried to picture myself in her position and found it hilarious. I surely know that’s one bridge i aint ready to cross.
I had never been in this area before so seeing the prison just made me wonder what kind of life the guys in there led. i got myself an opportunity to find out coz one of the gals had a friend who due to a bad mistake that led to the loss of life has a life time sentence. She invited us to come along the next time she went to visit.
Later we went for a fashion show that we actually didn’t get to see coz we were late but at least we showed up and our host was happy. We walked in last yet we were the first to leave.
Time check 9:30pm. One of the gals is to shaken to drive to our next destination. She had frozen at a roundabout yet she was already there and some conmen aka police stopped us and later drove off merrily after getting chai.Mbu he needed something to house his pips at the back.My thought was to commit a real crime, something that would actually give him something to do or cry about, i wanted to kick his nuts.
well the house warming party rocked, did 2 liters of coke, white wine and at some point it turned red, lots of meat chicken and thoroughly enjoyed the pitiful attempt to belly dance. At 12:30pm we wanted to leave but our car had been parked first so we spent the next hour looking for the owners of the cars behind us.
Went to bed at 2:00am,was up by 7:00pm. I needed to be in Entebbe by 10:30pm for a thanksgiving service and a birthday party. My friend’s brother was making 20years. You may be thinking, oh well just another bd party but we had much more to celebrate. He was diagnosed with a brain tumour at the age of 8 after a year of excruciating headaches and moments of blurred vision. The tumour needed to be removed as soon as possible so the cancer wouldnt spread and by nothing short of a miracle, total strangers offered to foot the bill for everything, the operation, airtickets, accomodation, medicine for as long as they stayed in SA. The tumour was removed and later he was declared cancer free.
He later lost his ability to see, paralysis in the right hand and because his body is too weak, he’s wheel chair bound. Yet,not one day did he feel sorry for himself or blame God. He loves Life.Listens to the cartoons on tv,listens to arsenal, his bestest team play.
could have passed on any time, two decades later he’s still here. We are thankful.
Life is amazing.

I’m so touched about your friend’s brother.
Otherwise, you sure had an interesting weekend. Wish I were in your shoes.
